HP Vayu bring to TV in Inida

Low-cost computing solutions for small-served markets is not new, but Internet Devices Vayu, is currently being developed by HP to release in India, may offer something different. Unlike the OLPC XO 3.0 or tablets UbiSlate, it is designed specifically to alleviate public concerns about the use of new technology by putting it in a form that is common in India - television. Linux-based Vayu, shown above, attached to the existing TV, letting people use the TV remote to navigate applications and websites. More powerful than a standard web-based TV or set-top box, can also be paired with the phone, let the phone send a photo or a web address directly into the TV. People who feel comfortable with the mouse and keyboard can plug them in and use the Vayu as a regular computer.

It is not clear how much HP plans to sell to Vayu, but the total cost for parts is apparently about $ 100, so a bit more expensive than tablets mentioned above. The Vayu is not proportional to offer low-end computer specs usual, but probably will live or die based on ease of use, especially for new computer users. So far, we have not seen anything about the interface or usability, so we'll have to wait to see if the Vayu can live up to its promise.
